William Albert Hogue was known as Willy to family and friends. He grew up in Brentwood, TN, with his father Bill, mother Harriet, and brother Andy. He was active in his church and played many sports while growing up.
Baseball and cross-country were early favorites, until he followed his brother onto the wrestling mat. He wrestled throughout middle school and high school, placing in the state his senior year.
Willy was a widely respected and well-liked senior at Tennessee Tech University at the time of his death in 1997. A marketing major, he was a member of the PKA fraternity, the rugby team, and a DJ for KMBU. Tragically, he lost his life while climbing the Matterhorn in Switzerland.
He is missed by many.
